Turtle Quilt

Three turtles walking across the quilt!

This is the quilt I made for my son-in-law for his birthday. He loves turtles. I pieced the background from 2 1/2 inch strips and then machine appliqued the turtles and leaves. I added a couple of turtle beads and buttons.

New Stuff I have made

This a a pin cushion I made for my new secret sister. She collects sunflowers. The petals are a batik and the cushion and leaf are wool felt. The little watering can it is in has a sunflower too!

This is a doll I made for a artsy doll swap. Lots of artsy about her hey!

This is a caterpillar made of felted balls and embellished with beads. This month's Pin Doll Alley swap.

I couldn't decide which type of caterpillar I wanted to make so I made a furry and non furry. This furry one was crocheted and has beads sewn on too.

Mom's quilt

I finished my mother-in-law's birthday quilt on Tuesday. Her birthday is the 4th of July!!! We always get together at my sister-in-law's house on the fourth for a BBQ and fireworks. It is also my MIL and my nephews birthdays so we have a cake for them and presents. She is turning 80 this year. She loves owl things. This was made with a panel and charm square pack and extra half yard for border and binding.

The grandkids came today for a sleepover. It is always fun to have them over. Exhausting but fun! We watercolored pictures we drew and played games on the computer. Grandpa has tomorrow off so they will be playing outside with him. I don't do heat very well so will stay in. It is supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow and the 4th!! Yikes that is hot!
